Base Stations
High levels of Position Accuracy is paramount for critical manouvres where space is confined, cargo is sensitive or the nature of the operation requires it.
Navicom Dynamics' shore-based Base Stations utilise dGPS or RTK technology to give you the highest levels of position accuracy suited to the most critical requirements.
Correct installation is important and the base station should be installed where there is a suitable and reliable power source and the GPS & UHF antenna will require unobstructed external locations.
Navicom Base stations have an auto survey function for clients who don’t have a specifically surveyed point. This way, high investments & long timelines can be avoided.
We use UHF frequencies instead of MF because they consume lesser power and also have shorter range and can be used to transmit more complex data.
The key components of the base station are:
- Main enclosure (housing the GPS receiver, UHF radio & power supply)
- GPS antenna
- UHF antenna
- RF cables
