In our continual efforts to improve our products' performance, we have introduced a new feature in the HarbourPilot Lightweight.
HarbourPilot Lightweight is now capable of receiving Atlas (by Hemisphere) corrections. This allows it to receive dGPS level corrections achieving position accuracies down to 30cm.
HarbourPilot Lightweight is a dual antenna system which is fully independent of the vessel. It features an L1 band mGNSS receiver. With the introduction of the new corrections module inHarbourPilot Lightweight, it is now capable of having Atlas corrections services without the need for L2 activation.
Atlas GNSS global correction service by Hemisphere GNSS is a flexible and scalable service, delivering its correction signals via L-band satellites at accuracies ranging from meter to sub-decimeter levels. Leveraging approximately 200 reference stations worldwide and with L-band satellites distributing Atlas corrections, the entire globe is virtually covered.
This feature is best suited to those looking to improve the position accuracy of theHarbourPilot Lightweight without investing in any ground-based infrastructure like a dedicated base station. It also removes the dependency on waning technologies such as dGPS beacon networks.
Those unable to access or receive SBAS corrections in their region of operation, also stand to highly benefit from this feature.
