Production Assistant

ABOUT THE COMPANY & POSITION

At Navicom Dynamics Limited, we manufacture state-of-the-art marine navigation systems. We are a 100% NZ owned company that leads the world market with our superior products and excellent service.

As a result of the increasing global demand for our products and services and the projected growth of the business, we need an experienced Production Assistant to join our Albany based team. This role provides the opportunity for you to really get stuck in and become an integral member of our friendly team.

We manufacture low volume, high value, and often customized systems for the global market. You will be someone who is very keen to learn new technologies, and help in the manufacturing process by managing the inventory, keeping optimal stock levels to meet the current and forecasted sales, scheduling production tasks and assuring our products are delivered to the end user without delays. Also, you will be someone who is happy to take on some assembling tasks, testing the final product and completion of quality assurance tasks if required. 

This is a full time role in North shore based, friendly work environment.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

Hands-on manufacturing/testing experience is highly valued and additionally you will need the following skills/experience;

  • Warehouse skills
  • Good IT skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills

Highly desirable skills

  • Microsoft Project and enterprise grade resource/inventory management experience
  • Basic mechanical skills such as using bench drills
  • Ability to identify and understand basic electronics  
  • Basic knowledge of GPS and UHF RF systems
  • Clear / clean drivers licence
  • Flexibility to fit in with a demanding and rapid production environment
