Production Assistant

ABOUT THE COMPANY & POSITION

At Navicom Dynamics Limited, we manufacture state-of-the-art marine navigation systems. We are a 100% NZ owned company that leads the world market with our superior products and excellent service.

As a result of the increasing global demand for our products and services and the projected growth of the business, we need an experienced Production Assistant to join our Albany based team. This role provides the opportunity for you to really get stuck in and become an integral member of our friendly team.

We manufacture low volume, high value, and often customized systems for the global market. You will be someone who is very keen to learn new technologies, and help in the manufacturing process by managing the inventory, keeping optimal stock levels to meet the current and forecasted sales, scheduling production tasks and assuring our products are delivered to the end user without delays. Also, you will be someone who is happy to take on some assembling tasks, testing the final product and completion of quality assurance tasks if required. 

This is a full time role in North shore based, friendly work environment.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

Hands-on manufacturing/testing experience is highly valued and additionally you will need the following skills/experience;

  • Warehouse skills
  • Good IT skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills

Highly desirable skills

  • Microsoft Project and enterprise grade resource/inventory management experience
  • Basic mechanical skills such as using bench drills
  • Ability to identify and understand basic electronics  
  • Basic knowledge of GPS and UHF RF systems
  • Clear / clean drivers licence
  • Flexibility to fit in with a demanding and rapid production environment

Sales & Marketing Manager with Business Development Skills

At Navicom Dynamics Ltd we build leading edge GNSS based marine navigation systems as well as precision positioning systems. We are a New Zealand company that leads the world in our niche market and our products and services have an enviable history of delivering superior performance.

A large portion of the sales are handled directly by our in-house sales team. We also represent ourselves in various regions of the world through a reseller or channel partner network. Through these independent, partner organisations we conduct our sales operations in many countries.

We have grown as a company and have improved our processes to cope with volume and demand which has increased significantly over the last few years. Now, we intend to be more proactive with our contact and network building initiatives. This we will do through reaching out directly to key potential customers and also through efforts focussed on driving our resellers towards higher performance. To do this we need to hire a Sales & Marketing Manager with Business Development skills who has a passion for their work, proven ability to develop outstanding business relationships and manage a channel partner/ reseller network leading to increased sales.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

We are seeking someone to work with our existing team to link sales and marketing strategy and activity with proactive business development and sales. You will be working to:

  • Develop the Sales activity to be more efficient and effective.
  • Proactively augment the organisations market position through actively establishing contact, building relationships, identifying market opportunities and building a robust pipeline of opportunities that will achieve increased sales revenue.
  • Identify and contact key stake holders, both purchasers and influencers within the ports around the world who are likely targets for our products. Build and maintain relationships with existingclients that leads to retention, repeat purchase, feedback and loyalty.
  • Win, maintain and expand alliances with resellers/ channel partners. Do this through establishing productive communication, reporting and support structures with key assigned personnel.
  • Proactively engage resellers in joint planning that leads to development of objectives and targets. Oversee the same and assist with solutions to address reseller needs, track KPI’s and deliver new company content/updates to keep them apprised.
  • Other functions like cold calling, setting up meetings, identifying decision makers, preparing relevant reports, supporting and managing reseller requirements will also be part of this role.
  • As part of your role you will also be helping with product development working with the R&D team to incorporate customer product requests with our regular product updates and with new products. Also, you will interact with our existing marketing person to obtain the market intelligence on potential future customers.
  • Leading our existing Marketing expertise to further our aims of effectively promoting Navicom’s products and closing the opportunities created.
  • Improving the customer journey keeping existing and potential customers informed of all progress with their activities with Navicom and ensuring customers are happy.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

The role demands the following (among other) critical skills and attributes:

  • Proven sales track record.
  • Communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work as a team member who interacts well with the rest of the team.
  • Able to build business relationships with customers, colleagues and suppliers.
  • Can-do, no nonsense attitude. Self-motivated
  • Proven sales and marketing experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to plan effectively, organise work, deal with competing demands.

 

This is a great role for someone who is keen to work in a dynamic environment for an export focused company. You will work from our Albany office and there is also a requirement for some international travel for customer visits.
